Olivia (months 7-9)

Olivia is on the move now crawling and soon to be walking! She stands up with support and can walk herself along the furniture. She is showing interest in new toys, and everything she finds goes into her mouth. She has also figured out what clothes are, whenever she has an article of clothing in her hand she tries to put it over her head. Socks never stay on and it's becoming nearly impossible to change diapers without her rolling over or trying to crawl away. As her personality develops, so does her temper. She knows when she doesn't like or want something and she'll let us know by throwing herself backwards full force and yelling. I've really enjoyed seeing her and Scarlett develop their bond, it's the cutest thing. Olivia knows that Scarlett plays a very important role in her life and she just loves her so much. Scarlett shares the same love for her baby sister. Still no teeth yet!

Olivia (months 4-6)

Olivia is already 6 months! In the last 3 months we have introduced solids such as fruit and veggies. She is very interested in new foods and enjoys eating with everyone else. She is much more vocal and on the move! Although she's not quite crawling yet, she has figured out other ways to get around. She still doesn't like being in the car seat or car rides.

Olivia (months 1-3)

I've been trying my best to keep up with monthly photos of miss Olivia. Time is going by so fast! It's nice to have these pictures side by side to see how much she is changing and growing.

And Then There Were Four...

And then there were four
On Friday January 2nd, 2015  at 9:44 am we welcomed another member into the family, Olivia Naya Dowling. I had noticed some slight pain with tightening in my abdomen the morning of the previous day. It wasn't consistent or very painful, more uncomfortable than anything, so we went about our day not knowing how our lives would change in just a matter of hours. We put away all of our Christmas decor and organized Scarlett's toys, did some cleaning, etc. We even made a Target run that night and had a late dinner at Olive Garden. Around midnight when I was ready to go to sleep I started feeling the pain again and this time much more consistent. Long story short, I ended up not getting any sleep at all that night and by 4am we were on the way to hospital. My labor progressed very quickly and before we knew it, she was making her way into the world. Everything went so smoothly; it was an experience I'll never forget.
Now, a week later, we are still establishing a new routine and simply adjusting to having a newborn around. She's so small and sweet. Scarlett loves being a big sister. She likes to sing to her and hold her. Today, we went out for lunch as a family of four for the first time. It was nice getting out for a little while, but I have to say I'm enjoying just staying in and bonding with my family.
